Holy Spirit School provides a Christian Education in the Catholic Tradition
based on Gospel Values.
We strive for excellence in education, recognising the need for the spiritual, intellectual,
social, emotional, cultural and physical development of the whole person.
Our faith education empowers learners of all ages to shape and enrich
our changing world by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This is achieved through collaboration with parish / school / family.
We strive to develop a community of continuous learning that nurtures
the distinctive charisms of Holy Spirit School viz:
Our ‘Catholicity'
Our Hospitality
Our Concern for each other
Our Love of learning
Our Respect for individuality and diversity
Our Striving to do our best
Our Outreach beyond the school
Our Care for creation as co-creators
Our Collaboration, relationship, involvement as community.
Religious Education
The religious education program follows the guidelines approved by the Bishop of Townsville, Bishop Michael Putney. It is divided into the four strands - Beliefs, Celebration and Prayer, Morality and Scripture. In our faith education we hope to teach each student to see and understand the wonder and compassion of God. As well as imparting faith knowledge, we have a strong focus on guiding students to live the school motto "To Strive for Love and Peace". Prayer, liturgy and meditation are part of our school life. Each class is given the opportunity to facilitate a liturgical celebration for the school community throughout the school year. Families are encouraged to be actively involved in these celebrations.
