P & F Association.
Many people think of a school's P & F Association in terms of the amount of volunteering, fundraising and long meetings - however at Holy Spirit School, the activities and aspirations of today's P & F are much more diversified and satisfying than that.
As an example, did you know that each family in the school makes a contribution to the P & F Association's activities each time they:
- Join parents at a P. & F. social activity, school liturgy or a class cultural evening;
- Send in items for the Fete and support a coloured clothes days;
- Give feedback and forward ideas to the school about how to improve and upgrade the facilities and school environment;
- Attend the many organised events such as the Fete, sporting events, parades or concerts;
- Join the P. & F. Committee or attend monthly meetings to find out about the many facets of school life, or come along to information sessions on parenting topics and child development.
These options are available because today's P. & F. Association is not just about physically building a better school, but is also about building a stronger school community.
Many of the photographs on this page represent the very important, indispensable role parents play in our school community through their individual efforts and through the P. & F. Association and the monies contributed throughout the year.
In respect of these things, we all share the responsibility of being custodians of the past, present and future. Our children enjoy the fruits of the efforts of the parents and friends who have gone before us - it is out turn to maintain those things today and to provide other things for tomorrow's children as well.
But, if you thought the only contribution the P. & F., or you, could make relate to physical things, we want you to know that your other contributions are noticed, welcomed and encouraged.
So the next time you:
- build the school's reputation by telling a friend how you enjoy the Holy Spirit School experience; or
- build the confidence of the school's teaching and administration fraternity by telling them what a good job they've done; or
- build the self-esteem of a child by attending one of their class events and telling them how much you enjoyed it,
you are, in reality, building the school community - and your P. & F. thanks you for that.
As a P. & F. member, you don't have to do a lot to give a lot - simply:
- be part of the school community,
- help out wherever you can in the practical things, and above all,
- encourage the children that we are here to support, by telling them that you are interested in their school.
Thank you,
from the Holy Spirit School P & F Association
